When you go on a Shamanic Drumming Journey

Drums have been traditionally used to help spiritual and shamanic practitioners, healers and those who practice many forms of meditation to develop and enhance their abilities to take journeys of the soul. These journeys result in a better understanding of the universe around us.

How Does It Work?

At the onset of the ceremony, the seeker asks questions of the Universe. The Shamanic Drumming Journey then leads the seeker into altered levels of reality and helps him/her to connect with insights for healing, and the answers to the questions that were asked.

The drum acts as a medium through which the practitioner reaches these unvisited levels of consciousness and corners of the psyche - the journeyer is able to "ride" the drumbeat into altered states.

This is why the Shamanic Drum is sometimes referred to as the Shaman’s "horse". By following the repetitive and monotonous rhythm, the mind’s inner chatter quiets, and the pathway is opened for the mind and heart to freely express themselves through images, symbols, songs and chants, tones, colors, sensations and a wonderful sense of "knowing".

The participant may reach increased levels of awareness regarding life’s purpose, or the things that are holding him/her back. Or one may simply find that the heart is increasingly awakened to the joy and bliss that each new day holds.

We wish for you to enjoy a safe and enlightening experience. Please prepare yourself by bringing a pillow and blanket, something to lie down on, and a notebook and water bottle.

All participants are asked to join our Cleansing Ceremony prior to taking the Shamanic Drumming Journey, and that alcohol and drugs be avoided for seven days prior to the event. A specially trained and skilled instructor, who is dedicated to helping you on your own inner journey, leads each Shamanic Drum.
