How a sick budgie shows the way to Reiki Healing

Jean was 85 years old when she read an article in the paper about Reiki for animals. After the death of her husband a year ago she felt somewhat lonely and had welcomed a little bungee in her life. Chico. He was her sunshine. Lately she noticed that Chico had stopped singing and seemed depressed, not himself. She took him to the veterinary clinic and they could not find anything wrong with him...!

She had connected with Chris after reading this article in the paper about her healing work with animals. The session with Chico went well. Chris held him gently in her hands. In just a few minutes Chico started to perk up and peak around the room. Then it was obvious he did not want to be held anymore.

Chris opened her hands and he flew around the apartment landing on his opened cage. Jean was delighted. What was wrong with Chico she asked? Chris said; "I’m not sure. All I am really doing is being an open channel for the Reiki Energy." Chris insisted on the fact that she was not the healer here, that Chico knew how to use the search of Reiki energy for his betterment

Jean was not new to Healing Energy. A long time vegetarian and regular meditator, she had read Edgar Cayce, Kryon and all the metaphysical books she could put her hands on.

She had studied transcendental meditation and always understood the Healing Power of Prayer and Universal Energy. But this form of healing was a new concept for Jean. She always thought that you had to be a special person, a gifted healer to be able to channel that Energy to heal others. It was something you were born with.

Jean and Chris became good friends. At countless visits Jean always had questions ready which lead to many late evening talks.

What is Reiki Anyway?

The healing power of Reiki surrounds us all the time, whether we are aware of it or not. It is the boundless and endlessly abundant pure energy that radiates from and throughout the Universe. It is in all of us since we are part of the Universe. We can all learn to access this energy for use in our daily lives.

Babies transmit Reiki naturally, constantly and without effort. As we get older, we stray from our origins and forget. We become unnatural, tense and vulnerable to illnesses and irritations."

And then Chris added. "You too can learn to channel this energy and help Chico, animals, plants, yourself, other people and the Planet!" Jean remembered the moment of silence following that sentence. Chris had a smile on her face and offered Jean to join the First Level Reiki workshop she was teaching that week end.
